ROAR@Home — a free reading check you can run yourself

ROAR is the reading assessment our lab built and validated, now rostered in 2,500+ schools. ROAR@Home is the version families can run directly: a short, game-like set of tasks your child completes on a computer, with a score report you can read and bring to a teacher or clinician.

Requires a parent or legal guardian's consent · needs a computer or tablet (no mobile) · currently U.S. only. It is a screener, not a diagnosis.

Trusted organizations beyond our lab

Where families go next

These are run by other organizations, not by our lab or by Stanford. We list them because our team and the families we work with have found them genuinely useful — not as an endorsement of any specific service or purchase.
